The Saturnalia Effect is an engaging read–it was hard for me to put it down and go to sleep at night only part way through it!
Pros: Troy and Daniel are people you really care about, and you care about them falling in love and about their ongoing welfare. Their difficult circumstances bring out qualities they didn’t know they had, in the way a good story should: Troy is braver than he thinks he can be, and Daniel cares more. The pacing is good, the details are fabulous, and the sex scenes are hotter than a hot thing.
Cons: The biggest con for this story is that it’s 23,000 words long, and there was enough story for 40,000 words. I would have loved to see more specifics on Troy’s character arc. And as well-seeded as the ultimate resolution of the story is, just a little more depth to the foreshadowing would have taken an already-smooth storyline and made it even stronger.
Overall, this was a fast, enjoyable read, and I look forward to seeing more from these authors. 🙂
